Ville Miettunen

How long have you been competing?

Since 2014. Internationaly since 2015.

Where do you call home?

I've been traveling my whole life and its hard to point to a place that I call home. I would say my home is where I'm at in that exact moment, but still when I'm in Italy, that's where I feel relaxed.

Favorite event or place to practice?

Absolutely Livigno skymarathon and all the mountain races in Valtellina. But for training I love isolaccia in italy. It's a great combination of mountains, trails and gravel roads in peaceful surroundings.

What do you like best about your sport?

There is always room for improvement. You have to train hard with lots of suffering, but on the other hand, it's the most relaxed sport because you can also just relax and climb some mountains.

What is the strangest thing that has happened to you while doing your sport?

Maybe in Finland last year. I was running around hills of Ruka ski resort and in descent I ran into some angry reindeers. So my run turned out to be a run for my life just to get rid of the reindeers.

Do you have a claim to fame?

There is good amount of fame, I guess... It helps you to be more professional and it gives you a chance to give your all in every moment.

Do you promote an annual event or are you involved in a charitable cause?

I'll try to help and give some advice and workouts to local runners and friends who needs help with their goals.

Any notable recent results?

Coming soon.

Anything else we should know about you or your sport?

I'm always talking sport and I wanna share my opinion of running as a most exciting sport. If you run, you can run everywhere without any labels.
